**Overview:**
The Public Health AmeriCorps (PHA) program at Appalachian State University is seeking motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team as Rural Public Health AmeriCorps Members. As a PHA member, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others while developing valuable skills and experiences in public health. **Responsibilities:**
• Participate in training sessions and service activities to enhance public health and community resilience in Western North Carolina
• Contribute to team projects and individual initiatives to develop public health professionals and foster meaningful relationships
• Engage in vocational training and professional development opportunities to build skills and knowledge in public health
• Provide psychological first aid and other necessary public health support to local organizations and community members
• Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to identify needs and provide support to build stronger, healthier communities
• *Qualifications:**
• Minimum age of 18 years old or 17 years old with parental permission
• High School Degree/Bachelor's degree
• Strong interest in public health
• Valid driver's license
• Criminal background check
• Must be a United States of America citizen or legal permanent resident
• Flexibility to adapt to both site-based and remote working environments
