Key Responsibilities:
- Provide sound legal advice and representation to city officials, employees, and agencies on municipal law topics, including land use, real estate, and employment law
- Conduct detailed legal research, draft legal briefs, and prepare oral arguments for court proceedings and administrative hearings
- Develop and maintain relationships with allied agencies, coordinate inter-agency efforts, and represent the city's interests in various forums
- Prepare contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and other legal documents to support city projects and initiatives
- Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and city employees to provide legal guidance and support
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university program
- Juris Doctorate degree or equivalent from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado (or admission to practice within 60 days of hire date)
- Minimum of five years of legal practice experience required for Attorney II position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in municipal law, land use, real estate, or employment law
- Training or experience in transactional representation and legal advice on city infrastructure projects
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
