Key Responsibilities:
As Stryker Emergency Care's Associate Legal Counsel, you will play a critical role in supporting our business operations and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Proactively handling a broad range of legal and compliance matters associated with the business, including medical device regulations, data privacy, competition law, anti-corruption/anti-bribery laws, liability avoidance, sales, marketing, and research related issues
- Working closely with Division Counsel on various legal and strategy business issues, including drafting, editing, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, such as Sales, Services, Supply, Distribution, Consulting, Clinical Study, Non-Disclosure, and other contracts
- Providing time-sensitive, solutions-oriented strategy support to internal and external stakeholders, which could have a large financial impact on the company
- Reviewing advertising and marketing materials for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
- Exhibiting solid negotiation skills, including comfort in negotiating contractual terms with customers
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with sales, finance, operations, and other key stakeholders across the decentralized organization
- Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of Stryker Emergency Care product lines, competitive environment, and customers to better support functional initiatives and provide recommendations to internal stakeholders
- Identifying system or process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce cost
- Working cross-functionally to achieve corporate objectives and create contract solutions that minimize risk and provide value to Emergency Care
Requirements and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A law degree and admission to practice law
- 8+ years of experience, with 3+ years of relevant legal work experience preferred
- Experience in a law firm strongly preferred
- Background in life sciences, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medtech experience strongly preferred
- Commercial contracting support and privacy background experience strongly preferred
