Career Counselor for College Student Choosing a Major & Career Path

We are looking for an experienced career advisor or career counselor to help our 19-year-old daughter identify the college major and career path that best align with her strengths, interests, personality, and long-term goals. She is currently attending Lone Star College and plans to transfer to a four-year university, including the University of Houston and other Texas schools. She has decided to remain at Lone Star for one additional semester so she can make a well-informed decision before transferring. Timing is important. She needs to enroll in her Fall 2026 classes soon, so we'd like to begin this engagement immediately. Scope of Work We are looking for someone who can guide a structured decision-making process that includes: - Assessing her strengths, interests, values, personality, and motivations - Using career assessment tools when appropriate - Exploring and narrowing potential career paths - Explaining how different college majors align with those careers - Reviewing degree plans and curriculum requirements for the universities and majors being considered - Recommending the most appropriate Fall 2026 courses at Lone Star College to preserve transfer options - Providing a final recommendation with the reasoning behind it, along with suggested next steps Preferred Qualifications - Experience advising college students or young adults - Familiarity with U.S. universities and transfer pathways - Familiarity with Texas colleges, community college transfers, or UH degree plans is a strong plus - Experience with career assessments and career exploration - Objective, structured, and evidence-based approach When Applying Please include: - A brief summary of your relevant experience - Any certifications or career assessment tools you use - Your recommended process, including the estimated number of sessions and total hours - Examples of similar students you've helped (without sharing confidential information) Please include: - The assessments or tools you would use (if any). - How you would evaluate different career options. - How you would incorporate university degree plans and transfer requirements into your recommendation. - The expected number of sessions, estimated total hours, and key deliverables.
