Key Responsibilities
- Provide virtual special education instruction to students in grades K-12, tailoring your teaching methods to meet individual needs and learning styles.
- Develop and implement personalized education plans, collaborating with other educators and healthcare professionals as necessary.
- Utilize your expertise in managing students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and behavioral challenges, creating a supportive and inclusive virtual learning environment.
- Engage in direct and indirect services, including lesson planning, student assessment, and progress reporting.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress, adapting instruction as needed to optimize outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to keep them informed about student progress and involve them in the educational process.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay updated on best practices in special education and virtual instruction.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- A valid special education license in Connecticut, as well as in your home state and the state where you will be working.
- At least 2 years of experience in a school setting, preferably with a focus on special education.
- Experience working with students with ASD and behavioral challenges.
- A strong foundation in creating and implementing individualized education plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for working with children and making a positive difference in their lives.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Orton-Gillingham certification or experience with similar instructional methodologies.
- Previous experience in virtual or online education.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
