About the Role
As a Customer Service and Billing Associate at blithequark, you'll be the primary point of contact for our customers, providing them with accurate and timely information about their freight. You'll work in a fast-paced environment, processing freight bills, tracking shipments, and resolving customer inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare assigned billing, including receiving and inputting data, and processing paperwork related to invoices, delivery receipts, manifests, damages, shortages, refusals, and bills of lading.
- Assist customers via phone and email, providing information regarding their freight, tracing and researching freight status, marking bills, answering questions, and obtaining corrections or re-rates.
- Provide updates or reports as needed, and sort and distribute paperwork within the office.
- Consistently follow all safety procedures and assist in general clerical duties, including copying, faxing, imaging/scanning, filing, and answering incoming phone calls.
- Collaborate with coworkers and other departments as requested, demonstrating a flexible and team-oriented approach.
Requirements and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A High School diploma (or equivalent) or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary qualifications to perform the duties of the position successfully.
- One to two years of general office experience, with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Hazardous Materials certification within one year of hire (we'll support your training and development).
- Transportation or freight experience is highly desirable, but not essential - we're committed to training the right candidate.
