Leading the development and implementation of innovative agricultural policy solutions, the full-time Director of Agriculture Policy will work remotely or from the Washington, D.C. office, focusing on reducing the environmental impacts of agriculture while managing cross-functional teams and engaging with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development of strategies and workplans for agriculture policy, emphasizing cropland and fertilizer use
• Engage with trustees and donors to raise funds, while liaising with the EDF Executive Team and Board of Trustees
• Identify emerging issues in agriculture and develop strategies to address climate impacts and enhance stakeholder alignment
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree; a Master's degree may substitute for up to two years of experience
• Deep subject matter expertise in agriculture and fertilizer use
• Proven track record of planning and implementing strategic programs across complex stakeholder landscapes
• Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with government agencies, NGOs, and community stakeholders
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for diverse audiences
