Overview
The Director of Marketing, U.S. Microbiology is responsible for driving profitable growth across the microbiology portfolio, including instrument, reagent, informatics, and at home testing solutions. This role leads the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies, ensuring strong alignment with commercial priorities and customer needs. The position provides leadership to a high-performing marketing team and collaborates cross-functionally with Sales, Global Marketing, Market Access, and Business Operations to deliver sustained growth and market leadership. This dynamic role will drive business growth in the acute care space and will lead the development of new markets for HPV at home testing innovation.
Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited to
Strategic Leadership & Portfolio Management
Define and execute the strategy to develop new markets for at home testing innovation
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies across the molecular portfolio to drive growth and profitability
Define clear value propositions aligned with brand strategy and customer priorities
Lead portfolio lifecycle management, including innovation planning and channel optimization
Represent U.S. market insights and voice of customer in global product development
Build strong relationships with KOLs, clinicians, and advisory boards
Marketing Execution
Identify and overcome barriers to HPV at home testing adoption and develop provider and patient awareness and advocacy
Translate market insights into targeted segmentation, positioning, and go-to-market plans
Lead product launches, pricing strategies, and integrated campaigns
Deliver differentiated, evidence-based messaging to support value-based selling
Drive cross-platform initiatives and develop compelling clinical and economic value stories
Commercial Excellence
Partner with Sales to enable adoption of high-value solutions and accelerate pipeline growth
Apply data-driven targeting and optimize omnichannel marketing performance
Expand share within existing accounts and support new customer acquisition
Reinforce sales effectiveness through structured methodologies and tools
Business & Channel Strategy
Build strategic partnerships for HPV at home testing to strengthen provider and patient access
Align pricing strategies with strategic accounts and contract frameworks (e.g., GPOs)
Partner with channel management to optimize distribution and profitability
Identify and capture opportunities related to contract compliance and revenue optimization
Leadership & Operations
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing marketing team
Drive cross-functional alignment across Sales, Operations, and Global Marketing
Manage budgets, forecasting, and performance metrics to ensure business objectives are met
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that would include the following
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related field required; MBA preferred
10+ years of experience in MedTech marketing and/or sales
5+ years of leadership experience in product or portfolio marketing
Demonstrated success developing and executing growth strategies
Skills & Capabilities
Demonstrated success in developing new markets for innovative technologies
Strong business and financial acumen with deep understanding of clinical/laboratory markets
Proven ability to translate customer insights into actionable strategies
Effective leader with experience of managing teams in a matrixed environment
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
