Position Summary
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute a multi-year IT sourcing strategy aligned with enterprise business and technology priorities.
Build category strategies across software, SaaS, cloud infrastructure, hardware, networking, cybersecurity, AI solutions, and IT services.
Serve as a trusted advisor to CIO, CISO, IT executives, Finance, and business leaders on sourcing and commercial strategy.
Establish procurement governance, policies, and best practices across the IT organization.
Strategic Sourcing
Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy development through contract execution.
Drive competitive bidding processes including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and supplier negotiations.
Develop total cost of ownership (TCO) models and business cases to support sourcing decisions.
Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, spend optimization, and operational efficiencies.
Evaluate emerging technologies and sourcing models to support digital transformation initiatives.
Supplier & Contract Management
Develop strategic relationships with key technology suppliers.
Lead negotiations for enterprise agreements involving software licensing, SaaS subscriptions, cloud consumption, hardware, AI, and managed services.
Ensure favorable commercial terms including pricing, service levels, intellectual property protections, cybersecurity, audit rights, and termination provisions.
Establish supplier performance metrics, executive business reviews, and continuous improvement plans.
Manage supplier risk in partnership with Information Security, Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management.
Financial & Commercial Management
Deliver annual savings, cost avoidance, and working capital objectives.
Monitor technology spend and identify optimization opportunities.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to IT expenditures.
Analyze software licensing, cloud consumption, and technology utilization to maximize return on investment.
Stakeholder Management
Build strong partnerships with IT, Information Security, Software Asset Management, infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, PMO, and business leaders.
Influence executive stakeholders during complex sourcing decisions.
Facilitate cross-functional governance throughout the sourcing lifecycle.
Drive adoption of procurement processes while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
People Leadership
Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing IT sourcing team.
Establish performance goals and development plans.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
Lead organizational change initiatives related to procurement transformation.
Risk & Compliance
Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with Legal and Information Security to mitigate contractual and cybersecurity risks.
Support third-party risk management, supplier due diligence, and business continuity planning.
Promote ethical sourcing and supplier diversity initiatives where applicable.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
Master's degree or MBA preferred.
10+ years of progressive procurement or strategic sourcing experience.
5+ years leading enterprise IT sourcing and category management.
3+ years of leadership experience.
Demonstrated success negotiating complex enterprise technology agreements valued at multiple millions of dollars.
Experience with strategic sourcing methodologies and category management.
Strong understanding of software licensing models, SaaS, cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud), cybersecurity, and IT professional services.
Knowledge of software asset management (SAM) and IT asset management (ITAM).
