A Day in the Life:
The Director of Payments Risk & Dispute Management is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of payment processing within the organization. This role involves ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and security of payment transactions, as well as developing and implementing payment strategies to support the company’s financial goals on a global scale.
What You’ll Do:
Payment Processing Management: Manage the global payment processing operations, ensuring timely and accurate transaction processing
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute global payment strategies that optimize payment performance, reduce costs, enhance customer experience, and support business growth
Compliance: Ensure all payment processes comply with relevant regulations and industry standards
Manage the on-going relationship with the Credit Card Merchants (e.g. Visa, American Express, Mastercard, etc.) and our 3rd party payment processors (e.g. Stripe, etc.)
Technology Integration: Drive enhancements to technology platforms for payment processing, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with payment processing, including fraud prevention and security measures
Customer Experience: Drive a seamless and secure payment experience across customer touchpoints, reducing friction and improving payment success rates
Analytics & Insights: Establish and monitor key payment performance metrics, leveraging data and analytics to identify trends, optimize processes, and support strategic decision-making
Technology & Innovation: Drive modernization of payment platforms and evaluate emerging payment technologies, digital payment methods, and automation opportunities to improve customer experience and operational efficiency
Customer Focus: Commitment to providing excellent service to internal and external stakeholders
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with global payment service providers, negotiating contracts to secure favorable terms
Policy Development: Develop and implement global payment policies to mitigate risk and enhance operational efficiency
Reporting: Prepare and present executive-level reporting on payment performance, customer impact, operational efficiency, risk, and strategic initiatives
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the global payment teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and leadership abilities, and proficiency in payment processing technologies and software
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required
A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, Certified Treasury Professional) is a plus
Minimum of 10 years of experience in payment processing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Ability to develop and execute effective strategies while adapting to changing technologies, regulatory requirements, and business needs through critical thinking and sound decision-making
Ability to collaborate and influence internal and external stakeholders across multiple functions and locations to drive alignment, results, and organizational success
Ability to build, lead, motivate, and develop diverse, high-performing, results-oriented teams, fostering engagement and maintaining a positive culture in fast-paced environments
Ability to drive process and organizational change while operating independently with a goal-oriented mindset and understanding of the broader business impact
Flexible and adaptable leader with the ability to thrive in ambiguous situations, make sound decisions, solve complex problems, and deliver results
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence, drive accountability, and lead with courage
