Job Summary
The Aetna Individual and Family Plans Finance team is looking for an effective Executive Director who will build a regional finance team focused on financial results by geography. As a strategic finance lead, you will support 16 markets divided into four regions and provide financial leadership for each region to meet the Enterprise financial goals. Your key responsibilities will include providing financial reporting, partnering with regional business leads to develop membership forecasting, collaborating with the actuarial team for pricing, and identifying strategic levers to execute and meet the financial commitments of the IFP business.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and lead a high-performing regional finance team to drive financial results and achieve business objectives
- Develop and maintain geographic financial reports for the $10B annual revenue business
- Provide financial leadership and oversight for financial planning and analysis functions, including guidance on financial strategy and collaboration with stakeholders to align financial goals with business objectives
- Ensure accurate financial reporting, drive process improvements, and contribute to strategic planning and risk assessment
- Communicate strategic financial analysis and insights to support decision-making at the executive level
- Administer in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and profitability analysis to identify areas of improvement
- Collaborate with management to support strategic planning initiatives by providing financial insights, guidance, and recommendations to drive business performance and achieve financial goals
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a unique combination of financial expertise, leadership skills, and industry knowledge. The following qualifications are required:
- 15+ years of relevant financial experience, with a track record of building sound financial practices in a cross-functional environment
- Advanced technical financial reporting skills, with the ability to design action-driven financial reporting
- Analytical capability to identify issues and develop creative solutions
- Prior management experience, with a proven ability to develop and train staff
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and present appropriate levels of information to senior leaders
- Professional and executive presence, with the ability to set strategy and drive results
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Healthcare, managed care, or financial services experience, with a deep understanding of the industry and its trends
- Overall P&L management and leadership experience, with a proven ability to manage budgets, forecasts, financial analysis, trends, projections, and analytics
- Development of plans and identification of risks and opportunities, with a strategic mindset and a focus on driving business growth
- Advanced degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, with a strong academic foundation and a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development

In return for your skills and experience, we offer a competitive salary range of $131,500.00 - $303,195.00, depending on your qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program, as well as an award target in the company's equity award program.
