Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced and certified personal trainer to join our team at Harvard Recreation in Cambridge, MA. As a Personal Trainer, you'll design customized workout programs and train our members based on their needs. You'll deliver 1-1, buddy, and group personal training, assist with our female-focused training programs, and provide detailed orientations on exercise programs. You'll also be responsible for administrative tasks, including client record keeping, scheduling sessions, and attending monthly meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Design customized workout programs and train members based on their needs
- Deliver 1-1, buddy, and group personal training sessions
- Assist with female-focused training programs
- Provide detailed orientations on exercise programs, including aerobic, strength, and flexibility components
- Educate members on the fundamentals of strength and aerobic training
- Demonstrate the proper and safe use of equipment
- Carry out administrative tasks, including client record keeping, scheduling sessions, and inputting completed sessions for payroll
- Attend monthly meetings and perform other duties as needed/assigned
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A Personal Training certification from an industry-recognized and HealthFitness-approved provider
- At least 1+ year of personal training experience
- Adult First Aid & CPR/AED certifications from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety & Health Institute
- A Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Kinesiology, or a related discipline (ideally)

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work a 30-40 hour per week schedule
