Job Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Teterboro, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule. We offer the highest pay rates among substitute providers, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Our goal is to provide you with the tools and support you need to excel in the classroom and make a positive impact on the lives of your students.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of subjects and grade levels, including but not limited to: Kinder, Early Years, Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, High, SpEd, Special Ed, IEP, Paraprofessional, Teaching Aide, Teaching Assistant, TA, Instructional Assistant, Campus Aide, Yard Supervisor, Math, Science, STEM, English, ELA, History, Social Studies, PE, Music, Art, Drama, Theater Studies, Daycare, Teacher assistant
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of diverse learners
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
- Collaborate with other educators to achieve common goals and objectives
Essential Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
- Three professional references with one by a previous direct supervisor
- NJ Substitute Credential
- Background check & TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this!)
- Full COVID-19 vaccination
- A passion for education and putting students first

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience, particularly in a substitute teaching role
- Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching, classroom management, and other relevant educational topics
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including students with special needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to new situations and challenges
