About the Role: Permanent Auxiliary Teacher - Shelby Academy
We're looking for a highly skilled and adaptable Auxiliary Teacher to support our educational mission. As a Permanent Auxiliary Teacher, you'll play a vital role in ensuring continuity and quality instruction in the absence of the teacher of record. This full-time position requires a strong foundation in curriculum delivery, classroom management, and student assessment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and deliver instruction based on approved curriculum, adapting to the needs of students and the classroom environment.
- Monitor, evaluate, and communicate student progress to parents, guardians, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records, make reports, and enforce Board policies, regulations, and rules.
- Supervise students, ensuring their safety and well-being, and secure and maintain school property and materials.
- Be flexible and willing to fill assignments in other locations as needed, demonstrating a commitment to the overall success of the school district.
Essential Qualifications:
- Kentucky Emergency Substitute Teacher Certification.
- A minimum of 64 semester college credit hours from an accredited college or university.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.45 or higher.
- Experience working with school-age children, demonstrating an understanding of their needs and developmental stages.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a school setting, either as a teacher, substitute, or in another educational role.
- Knowledge of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and classroom management techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
