Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Availability Manager (TM1) to join our team, reporting to the Operations Lead and supervising our 24x7 centralized operations staff. As an Availability Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the identification, prioritization, and resolution of operational issues to meet service levels and objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of skilled professionals and contribute to the delivery of regional IT services to end-users, including support for desktops, peripherals, voice and video devices, local and campus area networks, and wireless and cable plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement moderately complex core business processes and assist in process improvement initiatives to enhance customer service and overall operational efficiency
- Identify process matters of significance or enhancements and implement changes to drive continuous improvement
- Lead Incident Response during critical outages, ensuring proper notification to management and customer points of contact
- Evaluate employee performance, development, and work product to enhance their skills and contributions to the team
- Address performance issues and make recommendations for personnel actions to ensure the team is working effectively and efficiently
- Prepare daily reports on incidents, changes, and problem tickets, as well as SLA status, to ensure transparency and accountability
- Prepare summary reports on major incidents occurring on shift, highlighting key lessons learned and areas for improvement
- Develop and manage Operations Center scheduling to ensure seamless 24x7 operations
- Communicate professionally with all levels of personnel, from technicians to senior management, to ensure effective collaboration and issue resolution
Essential Qualifications
- Three (3) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university
- Four (4) years of additional network engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree
- TS/SCI with polygraph clearance required
- Strong time management, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Strong troubleshooting and technical skills in networking and desktop support
- Experience with ITSM tools such as Remedy, Service Now, Service Manager, or equivalent required
- Experience scheduling in a 24x7 environment
Desired Qualifications
- 8570 Certification
- Experience with enterprise management monitoring tools such as HP Openview, Solarwinds, or Splunk
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in an IT service delivery environment
