Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer behaviors within music marketing, discovery, and consumption channels
- Drive data-driven approaches to solving complex business problems through data creation, analysis, statistical modeling, and insights
- Build and apply segmentation, regression, and classification models to derive insights from large-scale datasets
- Contribute to key initiatives and new business opportunities by developing analytical models and frameworks to understand potential, performance drivers, and the impact of environmental factors
- Support data-informed business processes by applying data mining, quantitative analysis, and data visualization to surface and elevate key topics, addressing business questions across diverse business areas
- Extract and develop data for analysis, securing, organizing, scrubbing, and controlling complex, large-scale data from multiple original sources using tools such as PySpark and advanced SQL
- Apply supervised or unsupervised learning methods, such as linear and logistic regression, decision trees, or k-means clustering, to derive, validate, and measure conclusions from the data
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities and understand performance, diving into data to drive meaningful and actionable insights
- Contribute to organizational needs through ongoing reporting and analysis to inform business, product, marketing, and sales decisions
- Lead content performance and audience analysis for product releases, creating and tracking key metrics to measure success
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- 3+ years of data analysis experience
- 3+ years of management experience
- A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, including Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related fields
- Experience developing statistical models and analyses in an industry setting for business use cases, with applied knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning procedures
- Proficiency in handling large, transactional datasets and interpreting data patterns from multiple disparate data sources
- Solid hands-on experience creating modern analytical solutions using scripting tools (Python/R)
- Expertise in advanced SQL, large-scale data, and numerical computing languages (PySpark)
- Experience with data mining in distributed systems (Spark/Databricks)
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Tableau/Looker)
- Experience developing scalable analytical code
- Experience working with media performance data
- Experience working with data in the media and entertainment industry
- Solid experience documenting data requirements, rules, and assumptions
- Experience communicating complex analytical concepts to multiple audiences
- Passion for building clear, concise, and meaningful metrics
- Proven track record of using data to drive business value and presenting data-driven insights to business audiences
- Experience influencing and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization
