Key Responsibilities
- Guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of sports data distributed by the Data and Analytics team, including scores, schedules, standings, and statistics.
- Work independently and collaboratively to deliver accurate and detailed data analysis, clock-and-score, and other metrics that power various ESPN products and productions.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Data and Analytics team's role in fueling ESPN's digital and television products.
- Verify the results of your own work and that of others, performing with a consistently high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Contribute to production, projects, and initiatives across the newsroom, and support newsroom leaders who are coordinating full-time and part-time staff.
- Anticipate potential issues, both daily and long-term, and propose likely solutions, communicating rapidly and clearly with stakeholders on these issues.
- Play a proactive role in working with colleagues to develop or refine production processes.
- Be an active participant in team and department meetings, seeking and responding to feedback around individual performance.
- Stay informed about current departmental policies and procedures.
Essential Qualifications
- Working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of various sports.
- Full schedule availability, which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to quickly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports data that powers ESPN's digital and television products.
- Capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production environments.
- Ability to communicate confidently, both verbally and in writing, to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often in a fast-paced and dynamic newsroom environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience working in sports or statistics, ideally in media.
- Knowledge of how sports data is used in media and for research purposes.
- Working knowledge of ESPN products and productions.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office products.
- Experience leading or mentoring a team.
- Ability to speak and write Spanish.
- Experience using social media in a business or news environment.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
