Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled English Language Development Teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction to high school students, creating engaging lesson plans, and assessing student progress. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of high school students
- Provide high-quality instruction in English Language Development, using a variety of teaching methods and strategies
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to students, parents, and guardians
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide programs and initiatives
- Participate in professional development and training to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and guardians to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Eligibility for employment in the US and ability to pass a criminal background check
- A California teaching credential authorizing instruction in core curriculum, or willingness to earn one
- Completed online application, resume, and cover letter
- Two current professional references, including one from a supervisor
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or commitment to weekly testing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching English Language Development to high school students
- Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and community partners
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools
