Key Responsibilities
- Creates and implements security controls to protect organizational information resources from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
- Surveys and assesses systems to identify vulnerabilities and evaluate risk; performs vulnerability testing.
- Carries out new or updated security efforts or controls, and reports system or process changes.
- Surveys security breach reports or logs, investigates potential security exemptions, and coordinates with internal teams or external partners as necessary.
- Creates and executes security controls, guards, and countermeasures to prevent and block internal or external attacks or attempts to penetrate organizational email, data, e-commerce, and web-based systems.
- May provide security controls for projects; may provide penetration testing and vulnerability assessments of applications, operating systems, and/or networks.
- May direct complex cleanup of legacy conditions; explores and assesses network security threats and performs root cause analysis.
- Aids the creation and execution of security plans, which may include conducting assessments to ensure vendors are complying with security contract language and security requirements.
- May direct contract reviews for suitable security language prior to a project/WBA signing; may direct remediation of management or administration or potentially accelerations on vendors or operations requiring a solution.
- May serve as "Level 3" support in the event Managed Vendor cannot resolve an issue.
- May review projects to ensure alignment with Security Requirements as well as address data security projects, when necessary.
- May lead oversight of a specific area of Managed Administration, when necessary.
- Provides data to management as required, including creating and conveying various dashboards, metrics, and other reports, as necessary.
Essential Capabilities
- Four-year degree and at least 2 years of experience in IT Security or equivalent.
- Secondary School/GED and at least 4 years of experience in IT Security or equivalent.
- Ability to travel up to/similar to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Preferred Capabilities
- Four-year degree in CE, CS, IT, IS, Math, or Engineering.
- Experience with Purple Promotion, specifically with managing Characters, such as Management Chiefs and Management Records.
- Knowledge of Safety Innovation frameworks, or the ability to quickly learn and become an informed authority for frameworks that you are new to.
- Great critical thinking abilities, ability to interpret business capabilities to technical capabilities, great verbal and written communication skills.
- CISSP or CISA Certificate preferred.
