About the Role: Legal Transcriptionist
As a Legal Transcriptionist at Verbit, you'll play a critical role in transcribing various types of legal audio into text with high accuracy and efficiency. This is a full-time employment opportunity requiring 40 hours of work per week, utilizing our state-of-the-art Verbit platform. Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe legal depositions, hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings on the Verbit platform with precision and speed.
- Produce high-quality transcripts using company-issued equipment, adhering to strict quality standards.
- Maintain a full-time schedule of 40 hours a week, with a production requirement of completing 120 audio minutes per 8-hour shift.
- Utilize our time clock application to clock in and out for shifts, ensuring accurate tracking of work hours.
- Communicate reliably and professionally with the team, collaborating to achieve shared goals.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- At least 1 year of experience in transcribing legal depositions, trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
- The ability to confidently complete 120 audio minutes in 8 hours with high accuracy.
- Tech-savvy skills with the ability to learn and troubleshoot software applications, including our Verbit platform.
- A touch-typing speed of at least 60 words per minute with a high degree of accuracy.
- A dedicated, distraction-free workspace and high-speed internet connection.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications can enhance your application:
- AAERT CET (Certified Electronic Transcriber) certification.
- Completion of formal transcription training from an AAERT-approved school.
