Job Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to assist in the completion of personal, business, and partnership tax returns during tax season, as well as other bookkeeping tasks outside of tax season. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience using Drake for income tax preparation and a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping. Core Responsibilities
As an Income Tax Accountant and Bookkeeper, your core responsibilities will include:
- Data entry into tax prep software, including clearing flags and completing tax returns in Drake
- Organizing paperwork electronically, ensuring complete and accurate files
- Drafting correspondence and communicating with clients in a professional and courteous manner
- Bookkeeping regularly for current clients, and as needed for tax return preparation
- Handling client estimated tax payments and ensuring timely and accurate processing
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- At least one year of experience using Drake for income tax preparation
- Incredible attention to detail, with the ability to focus on one task at a time without distractions
- An excellent attitude and a willingness to lead with a "yes" approach
- Prioritization of client confidentiality and an understanding of electronic systems, including file sharing platforms and messaging apps
- The ability to take initiative and exceed expectations of management and clients
Schedule and Structure
We offer a flexible schedule that allows you to work from the comfort of your own home. During tax season, we require a commitment of 20-30 hours per week, and outside of tax season, we require 10-15 hours per week. There is potential for this to increase over time if mutually agreed upon. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and able to manage their time effectively to meet the demands of the role.

Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive compensation package, with an hourly rate of $40.00 - $46.00 per hour, depending on experience and expectations. We also offer a range of benefits, including:
