Job Summary and Responsibilities

- Teaching Chinese language courses at all levels, from beginner to advanced, and graduate courses in language pedagogy

- Directing graduate students in the Chinese language pedagogy program and mentoring them in their research and teaching endeavors
- Conducting research and producing scholarly publications in the field of Chinese language studies, language pedagogy, or linguistics

Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following essential qualifications:
- A doctoral degree in Chinese language studies, language pedagogy, linguistics, or a related field
- Native or near-native fluency in Chinese and English
- At least two years of experience teaching Chinese language at the college or university level
- Demonstrated success in teaching Chinese language and culture, with a strong commitment to language pedagogy and student learning
- An active research record with clear potential for or established record of scholarly excellence (depending on rank)
