Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Licensed Health Professional Lab Instructor to join our Emergency Medical Services (EMS) education team. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of EMS professionals by delivering theory and skills training to students in a laboratory and hospital setting. This is a fully remote role, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere and providing a competitive salary ranging from $20.00 to $40.00 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver theory and skills training to EMS students in a laboratory and hospital setting, under the general supervision of the Dean of Health Sciences and the Associate Dean of EMS
- Supplemental teaching and demonstration of EMS skills, facilitating hands-on learning in a laboratory setting
- Evaluate and provide feedback to students, using student interaction and demonstration
- Instruct students on the most current DOT curriculum, as approved by the Florida Bureau of EMS, including patient assessment and treatment of medical and trauma emergencies
- Ensure adherence to established College, Departmental, and Program policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety standards
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications
- Florida certified paramedic in good standing
- Associate's Degree or higher in EMS or a related field
- Completion of Level A - EMS Instructor Course Curriculum, as defined in 64J-1.0201 (Level A training must be completed prior to processing and start date)
- Currently employed by an ALS provider with a minimum of 3 years of ALS-level patient care experience
- Knowledge of EMT/Paramedic theory and practice
- Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of a range of emergency medical equipment
- Ability to practice at a level appropriate to the level of instruction being provided
- Ability to assess student performance and provide appropriate feedback
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- AHA BLS Instructor certification
- AHA ACLS & PALS Instructor certification (must obtain within six months of hire)
