Job Summary
As a Part-Time Statistics Analyst I at blithequark, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of sports data across blithequark's platforms. This part-time remote job opportunity requires a strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for sports. You will work individually and in teams to deliver accurate and detailed breakdowns, clock-and-score, and other metrics and data in real-time, powering a wide range of blithequark products and creations.
Key Responsibilities
- Guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, and insightfulness of sports data disseminated by the Data and Information team, ensuring that all data meets the highest standards of quality and integrity.
- Work individually and in teams to deliver accurate and detailed breakdowns, clock-and-score, and other metrics and data in real-time, powering a wide range of blithequark products and creations, including television broadcasts, digital products, and online services.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Data and Information team's role in fueling blithequark's digital products and television productions, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in sports data analysis.
- Verify the accuracy of your own work and that of others, performing with a consistently high level of attention to detail and ensuring that all data is accurate, complete, and reliable.
- Contribute to the production, operations, and initiatives across the newsroom, supporting newsroom leaders who coordinate full- and part-time staff and collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives.
- Anticipate potential issues, both day-to-day and long-term, and propose possible solutions, communicating quickly and clearly with colleagues and stakeholders to resolve problems and improve processes.
- Play a proactive role in working with colleagues to develop or refine production processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and quality.

Essential Qualifications

- Ability to quickly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports data that drives blithequark's digital and television products, with a strong capacity for learning and professional development.
- Capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production circumstances, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and excellence.
- Ability to communicate confidently, both verbally and in writing, to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often in a fast-paced newsroom environment, with a strong ability to collaborate and work effectively with others.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of experience working in sports or statistics, preferably in media, with a strong understanding of the sports industry and its trends and developments.
- Knowledge of how sports data is used in media and for research purposes, with a strong understanding of the role of data analysis in driving business decisions and outcomes.
- Working knowledge of blithequark products and creations, with a strong understanding of the company's mission, values, and goals.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office products, with a strong ability to learn and adapt to new software and technologies.
- Experience leading or training a team, with a strong ability to motivate and inspire others and to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Ability to speak and write Spanish, with a strong ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
