About the Role: Prep Cook - Homestead-Miami Speedway
We're on the hunt for a skilled and dedicated Prep Cook to join our dynamic team at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. As a Prep Cook, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our culinary operations, working closely with our chefs and other team members to deliver high-quality dishes that exceed our customers' expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain daily production schedules and preparation requirements from the Chef, and prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes.
- Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets, tasting completed meals to ensure quality and consistency.
- Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Store, label, and date all food items according to policy, adhering to HACCP guidelines to ensure the quality and safety of our food supply.
- Take orders from customers, prepare items requiring short preparation time, and serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner.
- Complete orders from steam tables and grill, serving customers at multiple stations while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
- Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
- Resolve customer concerns in a professional and courteous manner, providing exceptional customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
Essential Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A strong foundation in food preparation and cooking techniques, with previous experience as a Prep Cook or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of HACCP guidelines and food safety regulations, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, customers, and management.
- A positive and flexible attitude, with a willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, although not required.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not essential, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- Previous experience working in high-volume event environments, such as sports stadiums or entertainment venues.
- Certifications in food safety, such as ServSafe, can be an asset.
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and presentation techniques.
- Experience with inventory management and cost control.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits:
