Job Overview
We are seeking an exceptionally talented Principal Estimator to join our dynamic team. As a Principal Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our proposals by ensuring all assigned artifacts are prepared correctly according to request for proposal (RFP) instructions and capture strategies. This is a fully remote role, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere and providing a competitive salary to attract a top-tier candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze RFP documents, competitive intelligence information, and internal capabilities to determine RFP-specific solutions, methods, and strategies.
- Document processes and resulting data for future reference, including potential contract change orders and protest actions.
- Receive input from proposal subject matter experts (SMEs) regarding workload data and work execution methods, incorporating this input into proposal artifacts.
- Function as a proposal SME for discipline areas in which you may be qualified, applying selected estimating methodologies to workload data to create estimate output data tables in required formats.
- Perform GAP analysis between estimate output data and other estimate efforts, using this analysis to continuously improve estimate data until a satisfactory outcome is achieved.
- Align estimate data with other RFP deliverables, such as the project schedule, technical volume, risk register, and oral presentations.
- Document the entire estimating process for input to the cost pricing narrative, proposal risk register, proposal small business plan, and other relevant documents.
- Participate in proposal meetings and review efforts, including daily stand-ups, color review teams, financial reviews, and more.
- Review each RFP amendment and update all artifacts accordingly, preparing all artifacts in alignment with the established proposal schedule.
- Participate in efforts to develop scope requirements and pricing templates for proposal vendors and subcontractors.
- Manage and lead the accumulation, evaluation, and documentation of historical estimating data for future estimating efforts.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a business-related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of related work experience involving estimating and/or program/project management activities.
- Previous experience using estimating database-supported software such as Timberline, WinEstimator, Costworks, Pro-Pricer, or Galorath Seer Software Estimating Suite.
- Ability to read, understand, and comply with RFP documents, including proposal evaluation criteria, proposal instructions, statements of work, and more.
- Advanced skills using MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word, and MS Project.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to lead a team performing difficult and complex estimating activities typical to proposals governed by Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and programs.
- Knowledge of company and project procedures and practices.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $104,200.00 - $182,400.00, depending on experience and qualifications.
