Job Summary

As a Remote Call Center Agent - FEMA Support and Disaster Relief Services, you will serve as a direct point of contact for individuals registering for federal assistance, seeking relief program referrals, or inquiring about prior registrations. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, utilizing your excellent communication and customer service skills to provide instructions, referrals, and support to those in need.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a primary point of contact for disaster survivors, responding to inquiries and providing support via phone calls.
• Conduct scripted interviews to determine needs and provide instructions and/or referrals to applicable relief programs and secondary support organizations.
• Enter information into FEMA's Windows-based computer database, ensuring accurate and efficient data management.
• Provide phone numbers and agency referrals as necessary for additional support services.
• Perform additional duties assigned based on FEMA's level of support to the event.
• Attend scheduled shift meetings to receive event-specific information prior to beginning shift.
• Display excellent communication and customer service skills, exhibiting a high level of professionalism in all communications.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

• Education: Associate degree or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience considered in lieu of degree.
• Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Confidentiality: Ability to manage a high level of confidentiality.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable working in a Windows-based environment.
• Communication Skills: Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Work Environment: Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
• Teamwork: Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous Experience: Previous experience in customer service, call center operations, or a related field.
• Language Skills: Fluency in multiple languages (in addition to English).
