Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data warehouses and BI tools for blithequark's financial data platforms
- Develop and implement ETL pipelines, data models, and reporting solutions that meet business requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop data-driven solutions
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Optimize software and query performance using profiling tools and SQL
- Analyze and resolve issues at their root, stepping back to understand the wider context
- Stay up-to-date with advances in big data technology and run pilots to lay out the data architecture to scale with increased data volume using cloud-based technologies
- Continuously improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for datasets
Essential Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on big data analytics and cloud application development
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with cloud-based technologies such as Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Firehose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
- Excellent business and communication skills, with the ability to work with stakeholders to develop and define key business questions and build data sets that solve those questions
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop insights that drive business decisions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with non-relational databases/data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
