Job Overview and Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Senior Analyst to join our Credit and Fraud Risk Management team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for delivering data-driven, decision-making, and high-impact overall loss provision forecasts and credit-risk-related insights. Your primary objectives will include:
- Conducting in-depth analyses and developing predictive models to gauge credit risk and inform business decisions
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Risk, Collections, Marketing, and Finance, to drive credit-related analytical insights and recommendations
- Communicating complex data insights and proposals to senior stakeholders and partners across the organization
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends, market developments, and emerging risks to identify opportunities for analysis and process improvements
- Providing thought leadership on projects across the Global Risk Finance association to help American Express meet its long-term growth objectives

Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong foundation in data analysis, statistics, and modeling, with experience in credit risk management and forecasting
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working with data management tools, such as SQL, SAS, Hive, Python, and Power-BI
- A bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as mathematics, statistics, economics, or computer science
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
While not required, the following qualifications and experience are preferred:
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field, such as a master's or Ph.D.
- Experience working in the financial industry, particularly in credit risk management and analytics
- Knowledge of big data tools and platforms, such as Hadoop, PIG/HIVE
- Experience with cloud-based data management and analytics platforms
- Certifications in data science, analytics, or a related field
