About the Role
As a Senior Corporate Lawyer at M365Connect, you will be responsible for shaping our legal strategy, ensuring compliance across all areas of operation, and safeguarding the company against potential legal risks. This is a remote, full-time position that requires a proactive, detail-oriented, and legally astute professional who excels in a dynamic, cross-border work environment. You will be the driving force behind our legal operations, providing expert guidance and support to our teams across different jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents and contracts with clients, freelancers, and partners, ensuring that they are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
- Provide strategic legal guidance on corporate governance, employment law, and international business transactions, helping to inform business decisions and mitigate potential risks.
- Manage the legal aspects of corporate finance, including compliance with financial regulations, to ensure that our financial operations are secure and compliant.
- Oversee intellectual property rights, ensuring that they are protected and compliant with relevant laws and regulations, and advising on strategies to safeguard our IP.
- Handle dispute resolution and litigation management efficiently, working closely with external counsel and regulatory authorities as needed to resolve disputes and minimize potential liabilities.
- Advise on data protection laws, privacy, and cybersecurity matters relevant to our remote operations, ensuring that we are compliant with relevant regulations and best practices.
- Liaise with external counsel and regulatory authorities as needed, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring that we are informed about changes in the legal landscape.
- Stay abreast of legislative changes that may impact our operations across different jurisdictions, providing expert guidance and support to our teams and helping to inform our business strategy.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess a Juris Doctor or equivalent legal qualification, with a license to practice law. You should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate law, preferably with exposure to the IT recruitment industry. A strong understanding of international business law, employment law, and contract law is essential, as is proficiency in managing legal issues in a remote work environment.
In particular, you should have:
- A strong understanding of the regulations in Latvia, Pakistan, and African countries, and how they impact our operations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and drafting skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
