About the Position
This very part-time position, requiring just 4 hours per week, preferably on Fridays, offers the unique opportunity to teach in-person at one of our partner schools in Chattanooga. As an SEL Intervention Teacher, you will play a critical role in helping students address their identified skill deficits and achieve on-level academic success. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver small group intervention (Tier 2) to students in K-8 grade levels, utilizing a prescribed curriculum and the gradual release model of instruction.
- Develop and maintain individualized, skill-appropriate lesson plans using company-provided curriculum and materials.
- Instruct students in face-to-face school settings, focusing on intervention in readiness, reading, mathematics, and writing skills.
- Ensure the supervision of students at all times, including safely escorting them to and from classrooms or learning stations.
- Perform timely data entry to meet deadlines, including student attendance, online pre/post testing, progress reports, and communication with parents and classroom teachers.
- Schedule and attend parent meetings and conferences as required.
- Maintain consistent communication with blithequark supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents.
- Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by blithequark, local, state, and federal agencies.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Education or a related field.
- Classroom teaching, internship, or tutoring experience, with a willingness and ability to teach various grade levels.
- A working knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with Zoom/Teams is preferred.
- A passion for helping students and making a positive impact on their educational journey.
Preferred qualifications include experience with social-emotional learning, intervention strategies, and working with diverse student populations.
