About Players Health

At Players Health, we are on a mission to create the safest and most accessible environment for an athlete to play the sports that they love. There are over 50 million youth athletes playing sports in the U.S., and they are counting on us to ensure that the environment that they are coming into not only accepts them for who they are, but fills them with encouragement, love, and inspiration.

Players Health is a VC and PE-backed, mission-driven, sports technology platform providing digital risk management services, reporting tools and insurance products to sports organizations to comply with the changing athletic environment and responsibilities. We operate two businesses – both a Managing General Agent (MGA) and an insurance brokerage – a dual model that makes our financial operations uniquely complex, fast-moving, and meaningful.

Our Core Values

We cannot achieve our mission without having a strong culture. We believe that at the core of a strong culture is a shared set of values. The values that we hold true and look for our employees to embrace are as follows:

About The Role

The FP&A Manager is an individual contributor on a small, high-ownership finance team at a scaling insurance technology company. This role is the functional expert in financial planning and analysis, data and analytics activities to support strategic decision making. This role will be expected to deliver accurate forecasts, budgets, and performance insights, supporting leadership and influencing the business. This role will report to the Chief Financial Reporting, with a secondary reporting relationship to the Corporate Controller.

You’ll bring deep FP&A expertise and experience in the uniquely complex world of insurance FP&A, applying it in an environment where the processes, systems and controls are still being shaped. This is not a role where you inherit a fully built machine and maintain it – you’ll have the opportunity to evaluate what exists, identify what’s missing, and partner with leadership to build toward something more scalable and efficient. The ideal candidate is excited to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other technologies to support process automation. You’ll operate both hands-on and strategically, partnering closely with underwriting, operations, HR, and other departments.

The ideal candidate has spent meaningful time in MGA, wholesale brokerage, or carrier environments, and brings the mindset of a builder – someone who sees a manual process as an opportunity, not just a task. The FP&A Manager has a compensation range of $120,000 - $140,000, plus equity, depending on skills and experience. Other benefits include:

You will join an organization going through significant growth as well as digital transformation, with great ability to influence and grow. We instill a mindset of ownership and accountability with all team members, building a “playbook” for best practices – defining expectations to meet the vision and strategy for growth.
