Key Responsibilities
• Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations to determine clients' mental health status and therapeutic needs.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based approaches, adapting to the varying challenges presented by clients.
• Schedule and facilitate regular therapy sessions—both individual and group settings— to provide ongoing support and therapeutic interventions.
• Equip clients with coping strategies, tools, and resources necessary for effective management of their mental health challenges.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including psychiatrists and medical professionals, to ensure comprehensive care and integrated treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within EHR systems, adhering to ethical guidelines and confidentiality standards.
• Remain actively involved in professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of our therapeutic approaches.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As a Mental Health Counselor at Horizon Mental Health Services, you will engage with a diverse spectrum of clients facing various mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, depression, substance use issues, and eating disorders. Your ability to connect empathetically with individuals from different backgrounds will be critical in fostering a safe and supportive therapeutic environment. Through culturally responsive practices, you will help empower clients on their journey toward mental wellness and recovery.
Qualifications
• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid state license as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW.
• At least two years of relevant experience in a counseling or mental health setting.
• Solid understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment frameworks, and cultural considerations in therapy.
• Proficiency in EHR systems and basic computer applications to facilitate client management.
• Exceptional crisis intervention skills and a proven ability to remain composed in high-stress situations.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build rapport with clients from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and maintaining appropriate boundaries in therapeutic relationships.
Preferred Experience
Candidates who have previously delivered therapy in both individual and group settings, utilizing inclusive methodologies, will be highly regarded. Experience in community health settings or working with underrepresented populations can enhance your fit within our team. Being familiar with trauma-informed care practices and possessing strong leadership abilities will also set you apart.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary for this position ranges from $115,000 to $130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
