As a leader in our Store Automation and Development team, the Head of Information Investigation plays a pivotal role in shaping our data strategy and ensuring the effective implementation of our initiatives.
About the Role
The Head of Information Investigation will be responsible for developing a comprehensive set of KPIs to measure the effectiveness of our drives. This involves defining the right metrics, leading the development of the data pipeline and dashboards to distribute these metrics, and reporting progress towards our objectives to executive leadership on a regular basis. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to the smooth operation and strategic direction of blithequark's online platforms and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Source Identification: Utilize knowledge of the functional business area, scenarios, data categories, and data storage to identify relevant data sources. This involves understanding business data requirements, database technologies, and data quality.
- Business Issue Analysis: Examine business issues within your discipline, questioning assumptions to identify root causes. Recommend approaches to resolving these issues and set meaningful targets based on established progress rules and key metrics.
- Business Case Evaluation: Assess proposed business cases for projects and initiatives, translating business requirements into systems and aligning the team with the business strategy while executing targets.
- Data Visualization and Reporting: Identify and suggest the most appropriate visualization tools based on context and define application design based on user needs. This includes building compelling narratives, presenting to and influencing various audiences using appropriate data visualization, and adjusting communication style based on stakeholders.
- Strategic Direction: Provide overall direction by examining business goals and customer needs. This involves developing, delivering, building support for, and implementing business procedures, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and estimates and integrating them into proven strategies; and determining and supporting resource requirements.
- Collaboration and Partnership: Develop and utilize internal and external partnerships and networks, lead key community collaboration and inclusion initiatives, and support stakeholders while adhering to the organization's principles of integrity and ethics.
Essential Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and big data tools (e.g., Hive).
- Experience with dashboarding tools (e.g., Looker) and scheduling/workflow tools (e.g., Airflow).
- The ability to convey complex details of a metric to executives clearly.
- The capacity to connect the dots between data insights and their impact on the business.
- Experience in developing new metrics to track business impact.
- A proven track record of leading a team of analysts.
- Comfort with building dashboards and reports that aggregate data from multiple sources.
Preferred Qualifications
