Role Description
Baystate Health is looking for a per diem Medical Assistant to join our experienced Access Service Team to support the prescription refill line.
• Help ensure patients receive timely access to care.
• Deliver a high level of service to both patients and referring providers by responding to online inquiries and incoming calls.
• Work closely with physicians, care teams, and medical practices across the Baystate Health system.
• Serve as a key partner in coordinating patient care.
• Blend clinical knowledge, administrative expertise, and exceptional customer service to create a seamless and positive healthcare experience.
Qualifications
• High School diploma or GED.
• CPR-Basic Life Support of Healthcare Provider required from the American Heart Association.
• 3+ years of experience working in a medical office.
• Prior experience in a physician’s office or customer service environment.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent training demonstrating MA III competencies.
• Typing speed of 25+ words per minute.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English clearly.
Requirements
• Per diem - minimum of 15 hours per week (during hours of M-F 8-5pm).
• Additional weekend/evening hours available.
• Remote opportunity; candidate must live in MA or CT.
