• Tutor ($30 hourly) or Certified Tutor ($40 hourly) at
• Embedded tutoring between the hours of 1 pm - 5:30 pm (Most likely 4 days a week M - Th, 20 hours max); Schedule TBD
• Anticipated start & end dates: 10/2/23 - 5/1/24
• 5 tutoring positions need to be filled
• ELA and MATH (grades 3-4)

BASIC FUNCTION

The New Jersey Tutoring Corps, Inc. provides high-dosage tutoring for K through Grade 8 students in math and literacy to close learning gaps. The New Jersey Tutoring Corps seeks to hire tutors to work with scholars in partnership with Roseville Community Charter School. Tutors will work with small groups of scholars, typically in groups of 1-5, in grades 3-4 to build math and literacy skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Engage with scholars in grades 3-4 to build on existing mathematics and/or literacy skills;
• Complete daily records on scholar progress and site need using the tools provided;
• Use data to drive instruction;
• Communicate regularly with your site coordinator to provide optimum learning- experiences for scholars;
• Participate in coaching from an instructional coach;
• Use an asset-based approach in working with scholars;
• Be responsive and work collaboratively with other tutors and site staff;
• Complete all training;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

• Experience working with young children, preferably in a learning and teaching capacity;
• Standard certificate, certificate of eligibility (CE), or certificate of eligibility with advanced standing (CEAS) to receive the $40 hourly pay rate;
• New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form);
• Experience with Google Suite functions, including Google Sheets and Forms;
• Professional skills include attention to detail, timely and proactive communication, and job preparedness
• Reliable transportation to travel to sites.

• Genuine desire to work with young children in a teaching capacity, building on foundational skills and closing learning gaps using formative and summative data and strong teaching pedagogy;
• Background Clearance- The final offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and employment authorization verification;
• Local COVID requirements of the Roseville Community Charter School site including any mask rules that must be followed while indoors, if applicable.
