Job description:

Responsibilities:

• Oversees all aspects of the elementary curriculum grades K-5 (literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies);
• Works collaboratively with the team of curriculum coordinators to ensure coherence between content areas and across levels;
• Works collaboratively with instructional coaches, specialists, classroom teachers, and the administrative team to provided ongoing instructional leadership and professional development;
• Leads and actively participates in communication with all stakeholders, including staff, the Board of Education and parents;
• Leads elementary math and literacy teams through analysis of and response to student performance, collaborative decision making, and allocation of resources;
• Supervises elementary instructional coaches and aligns professional learning to continuously improve the coaching model; and
• Oversees elementary RTI practices.

Requirements:

• Successful record of teaching and leadership in an elementary setting preferred;
• Demonstrated expertise in the area of curriculum development, instructional improvement and assessment;
• Knowledge of research based instructional strategies and curriculum development;
• Experience cultivating effective professional relationships and successfully navigating team dynamics; and
• CT Intermediate Administrator certification (092).
