About the Role
As a Cybersecurity Analyst Intern, you will play a critical role in Southwest Airlines' Incident Response Team, working on real-world cybersecurity challenges and gaining hands-on experience in identifying, mitigating, and recovering from cyber threats. You will collaborate with experts to analyze breaches, develop rapid response strategies, and invigorate defenses. Key Responsibilities
- Work with business clients to conduct needs analysis relative to systems and business processes to create quality technical solutions.
- Ensure solutions are aligned with internal tooling, business strategies, and compliance to departmental standards.
- Manage timelines for planning, coding, testing, and implementing to guarantee solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
- Act as a resource to ensure effective communications among business and technology teams.
- Participate in systems and acceptance testing.
- Scope of work varies depending on the team project.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Fundamental knowledge of data security and risk relief principles, theories, and practices.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience or exposure to Proofpoint PhishAlarm.
- Experience or knowledge of ServiceNow Administration, Risk and Compliance (GRC).
- Essential knowledge of business analysis, process modeling, and improvement.
- Major comprehension of project management techniques, including the ability to plan, manage, and maintain a complex, organization-wide program.
- Capacity to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels within the organization.
- Fundamental knowledge of technical environment.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies.
- Coursework or experience related to Cybersecurity.
- Capacity to remain organized and manage multiple and simultaneous projects under close deadlines.
- Past analyst entry-level position experience within the last year.
- Experience solving business problems in a capstone or case competition.
