About the Role Our client, a leader in advanced scientific instrumentation, is seeking a highly meticulous Precision Instrument Calibration Technician to join their expanding remote team. This role is critical for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of sophisticated measurement devices used across various high-tech industries. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, a strong understanding of metrology principles, and the ability to perform precise calibrations and adjustments. While the position is fully remote, it requires the ability to manage and execute complex calibration procedures, often involving proprietary equipment and software, serving clients nationwide, with a significant presence in the Provo, Utah, US region. You will uphold the highest standards of measurement integrity from your dedicated workspace. Key Responsibilities Perform precise calibrations on a wide range of electronic and mechanical precision instruments, adhering to established procedures and standards. Utilize advanced calibration equipment and software to verify instrument accuracy and functionality. Document all calibration activities, results, and adjustments in detailed reports and databases. Identify and troubleshoot discrepancies in instrument performance, recommending corrective actions. Maintain and service calibration equipment to ensure its accuracy and reliability. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 17025). Collaborate remotely with engineers and clients to address calibration-related inquiries and issues. Stay current with advancements in metrology and calibration techniques. Manage calibration schedules and ensure timely completion of tasks. Contribute to the continuous improvement of calibration processes and procedures. Requirements Associate's degree or higher in a relevant technical field (e.g., Electronics, Metrology, Physics) or equivalent military/technical training. Minimum of 5 years of experience in instrument calibration, preferably within a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, medical devices, pharmaceuticals). Strong understanding of metrology principles and calibration techniques for electrical, electronic, and mechanical instruments. Proficiency with calibration software and data management systems. Experience using precision measurement tools and equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, pressure calibrators). Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and remote collaboration. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain high productivity in a remote setting. Must have a suitable home office environment with reliable high-speed internet access. Understanding of ISO standards and quality management systems.
