Description
The authorization coordinator position is responsible for verifying patient eligibility, coordinating benefits, ensuring insurance coverage, and determining if prior authorization is needed for orders. If required, obtain authorization for tests, therapies, or referrals to specialists and document in the patient electronic medical record. Facilitate responses to patient and provider inquiries regarding authorizations and referrals reputed company turnaround standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Monitor and resolve referral/authorization orders in Epic in a timely manner.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of referrals, including CPT, ICD, HCPCS codes, provider, and reputed company of service.
• Verify insurance acceptance by the Foundation for reputed company incoming referrals.
• Obtain additional medical information from providers or office staff as necessary.
• Process referrals according to standard work and health plan requirements.
• Research denials and submit for retro authorizations.
• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in each referral.
• Proactively research and resolve work-reputed company issues.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00/hr. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, HSA, transportation, employee assistance, PTO, and more, subject to eligibility and plan specifics.
