About the position
Responsibilities
• Develop, support and enhance our valuation process for private instruments
• Perform independent valuations on securities ranging from basic to highly complex instruments such as structured products, private equity, and other assets
• Perform hands-on valuation calculations on private credit investments
• Analyze market data such as prices, yields, and comparable securities to determine appropriate inputs into valuation models
• Document valuation procedures, assumptions, and conclusions clearly and concisely for financial reporting and audit purposes
• Interact with third parties, including external valuation experts, traditional pricing vendors and auditors to ensure robust and accurate pricing for portfolio instruments
• Support our traditional investment valuation process
• Prepare materials and present to the Valuation Committee, Fund Boards of Trustees and other senior committees on valuation matters
Requirements
• Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills
• Private credit expertise: demonstrate knowledge of private credit instruments, structured debt, bank loans, and other illiquid investments
• Subject matter expertise of technical accounting standards and generally accepted valuation methodologies for complex and private investments
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint); Skilled in the use of Bloomberg and other market data sources
• Equivalent to bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business or relevant field
• 7-10 years of experience preparing and/or auditing various types of private security valuations required
• 5 plus years of hands-on experience valuing private credit
Nice-to-haves
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) a plus
Benefits
• Salary Range: $130,000 - $205,000 Annual
