Job Summary:
Remote VA is currently looking for a detail-oriented Real Estate Staff Accountant with experience in AppFolio and Realpage. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial aspects of our real estate properties, handling complex accounting tasks related to property management. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage financial records for various real estate properties using AppFolio and Realpage.
- Process vendor invoices, tenant billing, and ensure timely collections.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, budgets, and variance reports.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and property ledgers.
- Monitor and report on property performance metrics.
- Support year-end financial audits and prepare necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with property managers to ensure accurate financial management.
- Maintain compliance with real estate accounting standards and regulations.
- Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements in financial operations.
- Assist with compliance requirements, tax preparations, and filings.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Real Estate Accountant
- Hands-on experience in using Appfolio
- Hands-on xperience in using Realpage
- In-depth knowledge of real estate accounting principles and practices.
- Familiarity with GAAP standards is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial reporting.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in property management accounting.
- Knowledge of local tax regulations and compliance related to property management.
