They are seeking a Content Strategist with expertise in Magnolia CMS to develop and implement effective content strategies that prioritize user experience across various platforms.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects in a confident yet humble and open manner; plus demonstrate negotiation and leadership skills
- Determine initial project resource requirements and review high-level project scoping information to support success
- Conduct and analyze user research to identify strategic content needs and critical gaps across user journeys
- Gather insights and synthesize discovery sessions into and actionable strategy
- Conduct thorough content audits and gap analyses
- Collaborate with contributors to ensure that content aligns to strategy and quality standards
- Analyze website content tagging, organization and hierarchy to offer strategic recommendations for optimization
- Deliver high quality strategic materials such as marketing playbooks, user personas, content frameworks or other communication strategy deliverables as need
- Develop strategies that prioritize the user experience, putting the right content in front of the right people on the right channel at the right time
- Advocate for importance and value of content strategy as a discipline within our organization as well as to clients
- Tactfully communicate, often facilitating dialogue between internal teams and external clients
- Define personas, as well as assess the audience for deliverables; communicating clearly, concisely, and confidently
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills in resolving complex cross-functional issues as they relate to content and user experiences
- Develop and get approval for content strategy, then manage said content strategy
- Prioritize feedback on strategic solutions for continuous improvement efforts
- Understand the holistic impact of content decisions and strategy across an entire organization
- Promote user experience and strategy as a practice within the organization; demonstrating excellence in user research process, communication and industry leading research techniques
- Facilitate workshops rooted in the design thinking methodology to discover insights that lead to innovative modern solutions
- Be a storyteller to bring ideas to life, garnering influence, buy-in and adoption across project teams as well as company wide
Skills
- Magnolia CMS Experience
- Strong decision-making abilities and autonomy
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to conduct face-to-face interviews, focus groups and workshops
- Ability to identify appropriate methodologies and tasks required to uncover desirable information
- Willingness to work with business stakeholders to complete any content-focused research
- Flexible, versatile and collaborative approach to project work that is still grounded in methodology and backed by research
- Excellent, highly creative communication and critical-thinking skills
- 5+ years of professional writing experience, with 3 years writing web and mobile content, preferably for interactive user experiences
- Experience managing multiple projects, setting stakeholder expectations, working individually and collaborating across teams
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, HCI, or related field
