The role involves leading the retail growth strategy, building retail and wholesale revenue, and creating commercial partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Build one of the fastest-growing retail channels in consumer
- Lead the retail growth strategy across North America
- Identify the right retail partners and distributor network
- Win new business and negotiate commercial agreements
- Attend industry events and build the sales function
- Create one of the company's most important future revenue channels
- Operate as a hands-on commercial leader, working directly alongside the founders
- Recruit and lead the retail organisation as the business scales
Skills
- A proven track record of building retail and wholesale revenue within a high-growth consumer brand
- Experience personally opening major retail accounts and creating new commercial partnerships
- A meaningful role in scaling retail revenue to $10m+ annually, either within the pet industry or another premium consumer category
- Success in building wholesale functions, distributor strategies or commercial infrastructure from scratch
- A naturally entrepreneurial, commercially driven mindset with the hunger to create opportunities rather than inherit them
- Pet industry experience would be highly valued
- Exceptional commercial builders from adjacent consumer categories, including health & wellness, food & beverage, outdoor, lifestyle and premium CPG
