Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Chlorophyll Water is a rapidly growing functional beverage brand and a pioneer in the chlorophyll category. They are seeking an experienced sales leader to accelerate national growth, open new retail accounts, and strengthen distributor relationships. The Director of Sales & Retail Expansion will be responsible for developing new business and managing key relationships while ensuring effective execution of sales strategies.
Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue and secure new retail, convenience, foodservice and distribution opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with retail buyers, category managers, distributors, brokers and industry partners
- Manage the full sales process, including prospecting, outreach, presentations, samples, follow-ups, negotiations, onboarding and launch execution
- Expand Chlorophyll Water’s presence within existing retail and distributor accounts
- Develop account-specific sales, promotional and retail-support plans
- Work closely with distributors, including UNFI, KeHE and regional DSD partners, to improve distribution and account penetration
- Use AI and modern sales tools to improve lead generation, retailer research, personalized outreach, sales presentations, pipeline management and follow-up
- Track sales performance, retailer velocities, promotional results and distributor activity
- Maintain an organized sales pipeline with clear reporting, follow-up dates and next steps
- Represent Chlorophyll Water at buyer meetings, trade shows, distributor meetings and industry events
- Collaborate directly with the founder and internal team on sales strategy, forecasting, pricing, promotions and market expansion
- Support successful retail launches through sampling, promotions, influencer activations, merchandising and other brand-building programs
- Identify underperforming accounts or markets and develop clear plans to improve results
- Communicate consistently and provide visibility into outreach, meetings, opportunities and account progress
Skills
- 5–10 years of sales experience within beverages, consumer packaged goods, grocery, convenience, foodservice or natural products
- Proven experience opening and managing regional or national retail accounts
- Experience working with UNFI, KeHE, DSD distributors or similar distribution networks
- Demonstrated ability to manage a sales pipeline and move opportunities from initial outreach through launch
- Strong presentation, negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills
- Highly organized, accountable and consistent with follow-ups
- Comfortable using AI tools and modern sales technology to work more efficiently and improve results
- Comfortable working independently in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving environment
- Willingness to travel for buyer meetings, account visits, distributor meetings and trade shows
- Established relationships with retail buyers, distributors or brokers are strongly preferred
- Experience with functional beverages, bottled water, wellness products or emerging consumer brands is a plus
