As the Manager of Media Relations, you will create and execute the company’s media relations and public relations strategy, working closely with internal leaders and external partners to secure media interest and coverage for ePlus solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop target media lists and preferred media outlets relevant to ePlus and its solutions/services, including vertical targets
- Build and manage distribution lists for ePlus announcements
- Build relationships with business and industry media and secure earned coverage
- Help develop, distribute, promote and secure placement for ePlus content that supports thought leadership, brand differentiation, and industry credibility
- Create pitches based on strategic company priorities to secure interviews with ePlus executives and media coverage
- Research and stay abreast of editorial calendars of key media targets and manage pitch schedule in alignment
- Support executive and subject-matter expert visibility through bylines, speaking opportunities, and industry events
- Measure performance and optimize content and channel effectiveness
- Partner with internal stakeholders to amplify key campaigns, announcements and thought leadership
- Generate ideas for content such as blogs, articles, thought leadership and other market-facing content
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts and other content developers to source insights and support content creation as needed
- Help translate complex services, data, and perspectives into narratives and pitches for external audiences
- This position will be responsible for working effectively cross-department and cross-functionally to manage and coordinate interviews or media byline placements
Skills
- Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in marketing, media relations or PR roles
- PR and media agency experience a must have
- Experience with requirements and restrictions of publicly traded companies
- Established list of technology industry and business media contacts a must
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated results in securing media coverage and byline placements with key target outlets
- Demonstrated experience increasing earned media placements and media interest in technology offerings
- Established and demonstrable contacts with technology industry and business media
- Strong editorial and writing skills with experience creating media pitches
- Skilled at translating complex services, insights and perspectives into clear, compelling stories that garner media interest
- Strategic thinker, with strong business acumen, ability to navigate ambiguity and understand complex topics
- Strong organizational and project management skills, comfortable managing timelines, editorial calendars and internal review processes
