The Platform Support Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and supporting trading systems, working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure high availability and resolve issues promptly.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a global support team
- Develop system instrumentation, monitoring and reporting tools
- Work with internal businesses to identify and resolve issues
- The provision of extremely high levels of availability for the production, demonstration and test systems
- Resolve of any problems in these systems in a timely and professional manner
- Proactively learn and understand business needs and develop or implement solutions
Skills
- Experience supporting an existing large system to very high levels of availability, ideally financial and/or trading systems
- Working on existing internal systems
- The team works very closely, and it is a high-pressure mission critical production environment
- Strong communication skills
- In this role you will be required to be flexible regarding work schedule, including occasional weekend duties
- 3 or more years of object-oriented development experience (ideally C++)
- Relational Database experience
- Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is preferred)
- 3-5 years' work experience, preferably in the Financial Services industry
- Proven ability to problem solves and multi-task
- A working knowledge of the fixed income market is preferred
