Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. 24-MAG is offering a specialized part-time consulting opportunity for credit professionals experienced in financial modeling and credit analysis. The role involves evaluating companies and financing structures, assessing liquidity and repayment capacity, and producing clear analytical conclusions.
Responsibilities
- Build, review, and interpret credit and financial models
- Assess leverage, debt service capacity, interest coverage, and repayment risk
- Analyze historical financial performance, forecasts, and downside scenarios
- Evaluate capital structures and identify key credit strengths and vulnerabilities
- Analyze cash flow generation, liquidity availability, and funding requirements
- Assess refinancing risk, maturity profiles, and short-term liquidity pressures
- Review credit quality using rating methodologies and structured evaluation criteria
- Compare financial performance against relevant industry, market, and credit benchmarks
- Review loan documents, credit agreements, covenants, baskets, and related provisions
- Identify covenant protections, flexibility, restrictions, and potential credit risks
- Conduct liquidation, recovery, and distressed credit analysis where relevant
- Evaluate structured credit, securitization, collateral, and tranche-level risk considerations
Skills
- At least 2 years of professional experience in credit, leveraged finance, restructuring, distressed debt, or a related field
- Experience at a credit hedge fund, private credit firm, investment bank, restructuring advisory firm, distressed debt fund, rating agency, or comparable environment
- Strong understanding of financial statements, debt structures, credit risk, and capital markets
- Practical experience in at least one of the following areas: Credit and financial modeling, Credit rating analysis, Cash flow and liquidity analysis, Covenant analysis, Liquidation and recovery analysis, Structured credit and securitization analysis
- Ability to communicate complex credit conclusions clearly and support judgments with evidence
- Availability to work at least 10 hours per week depending on project scope
- A degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, mathematics, or a related analytical field is helpful
- Professional experience in credit investing, corporate finance, banking, restructuring, or financial advisory is highly relevant
- Advanced qualifications such as an MBA, CFA, CPA, or equivalent industry training may be valuable
- Equivalent hands-on experience in credit underwriting, investment analysis, or debt advisory is also highly relevant
- Experience with leveraged loans, high-yield bonds, private credit, or distressed securities
- Familiarity with credit agreements, intercreditor arrangements, and restructuring documentation
- Experience preparing investment committee materials, rating assessments, or credit memoranda
- Knowledge of recovery modeling, enterprise valuation, and waterfall analysis
- Experience evaluating securitized products, structured finance transactions, or asset-backed credit
- Strong Excel-based financial modeling and written analytical skills
