They are seeking a Part-Time Medical Director of Inpatient Psychiatry to provide clinical leadership and direct patient care within a hospital-based behavioral health unit, focusing on telehealth rounding and quality oversight.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the clinical leader for partner inpatient psychiatric service line, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care
- Provide guidance and oversight on clinical decision-making, risk management, and patient safety
- Support standardization of care practices, documentation quality, and adherence to regulatory requirements
- Partner with hospital and administrative leadership on program development, performance improvement, and operational alignment
- Participate in peer review, case review, and quality improvement initiatives
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, admissions, and follow-up visits
- Provide daily rounding and medication management for inpatient psychiatric patients
- Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans
- Guide disposition planning, including admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Complete required documentation, including psychiatric evaluations and discharge summaries
- Lead or participate in treatment team meetings and case conferences
- Collaborate closely with nursing, social work, case management, and hospital leadership
- Provide consultation and support to clinical staff on complex or high-risk cases
- Engage with families and external providers to ensure continuity of care
Skills
- Board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist
- Previous hospital-based Medical Director experience required
- Unrestricted, independent licensure
- Established and updated CAQH and FCVS profiles
- Experience providing psychiatric care to all age groups
- Treating patients in acute crisis and providing stabilizing treatment in 24/7 settings
- Communicating with patients from various backgrounds and providing culturally competent care
- Experience working with multiple EMRs at the same time
- Advanced technical proficiency, including using hardware (Laptop, camera, monitors), Windows systems, Microsoft software, and EMR software over several years of experience in telehealth
