Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Coast Dental is a corporate entity seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The Senior Accountant will manage reconciliations, maintain standard operating procedures, and support the finance department in achieving business goals.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate balance sheet and income statement schedules and reconciliations to support the GL balance
- Maintain SOPs on support spreadsheets and other documentation for internal control needs
- Manage assigned monthly close accounting tasks
- Assist in variance analysis and managerial reporting as needed
- Assist with financial and tax audits or other compliance needs
- Review and prepare entries for sales tax
- Perform other accounting functions as required
- All other duties and responsibilities assigned
Skills
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance required
- Ability to understand basic financial terms and principles
- Knowledge of core accounting principles
- Highly detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Minimum of intermediate skills in Excel to include pivot, lookup functions and formulas
- Working knowledge of other MS Word and Powerpoint
- Three to four years of general accounting experience preferred
- DSO or HSO experience is helpful
- Familiarity with accounting software and programs. NetSuite is helpful
- Familiarity with AI tools such as CoPilot and Claude is helpful
